Happy New Year
A lot happened in 2006 that made it not only possibly my best year, but my most important one. I learned a lot about myself and also learned a lot about relationships. I connected with certain family members, friends and also a special somebody, in very personal and intimate ways. I had amazing experiences and made priceless memories. I also experienced a kind of happiness that I had never known before, but during the past few weeks, have also come to know to what it feels like to experience loss and heartbreak.
The majority of the year was absolutely incredible and by no means does the bad stuff negate the good; it just makes the memories somewhat bittersweet. In the big picture, however, I wouldn’t have changed a thing; nothing can erase the good times, not even a bad ending.
I feel like I have grown up and become a more confident and self-aware individual. I have done things that seemed impossible only a year before, but now it feels like I am facing the impossible again. I enjoyed almost a full year of happiness and wonder, and have also learned that sometimes you have to give up what you want if you are not getting what you need.
On a less personal note, in 2006 I watched over 150 movies, moved out on my own, got a new job, my band released our first CD, I got a new camera, bought a Mac and last but not least, gained a few pounds!
